DOOM 2016 A demonic franchise brought back from hell

In 2016 the world finally got a hold of the new fresh reboot of the DOOM franchise complete with brand new elements such a step Glory kills and secret hidden levels.

The Last time we saw The DOOMGUY was in DOOM 3 and since then fans have been wondering if he iconic Demon killer would ever make it onto our screens again but in 2015 at Quakecon a few peoples got to play the New DOOM and it was revealed at E3 the same year

THE STORY

The story of DOOM 2016 is pretty hidden if you don’t pay enough attention. DOOMGUY wakes up from a demonic coffin as a demonic outbreak occurs and less then 10 seconds later you’re slaughtering demons because that’s the main objective of DOOM and then you get your…DOOMspartan armour as to be honest it looks like something straight out of Halo.It does thankfully give the suit some modern looks to it for example no more biceps or stomach being shown and the helmet is  VERY different to its 1990’s counterpart

eventually you realise Olivia Pearce is responsible for all of this as she has torn open a portal to hell therefore making the UAC more demon infested than ever before….

GAMEPLAY

Gameplay in DOOM is fast paced and very similar to the originals but with this system called glory kills, when a demon loses enough health they will flash orange when you get near them and you can rip And tear them apart. All the guns feel different and all feel like they’re dealing damage in very different way and of course the Legend of guns in the FPS genre the BFG-9000 returns (Big fucking gun)

GRAPHICS

The graphics in this game blew a lot of people away and truly add to the immersion of this title. The Devs gave their own unique but familiar take on hell and all the environments are just incredible

VERDICT

DOOM 2016 is one of my favourite games of all time and it also has my favourite soundtrack in any game, the only real negative I have is that’s it can get a little repetitive but usually that wears off because they’ll be a boss at those points in time. DOOM 2016 gets a 9/10!

:)pros: amazing graphics, badass soundtrack and smooth gameplay

😦 cons:gets slightly repetitive

Why Assassins Creed Odyssey is the wrong direction for the franchise to take.

In 2016 it was announced that the iconic Assassins creed franchise would no longer be having yearly releases like it had done since 2010. This was a welcome change because it meant the devs over at Ubisoft Montreal could more time and energy into the project.

At E3 2017 the wait was finally over and Assassins Creed Origins was finally revealed with a release date of October 27th 2017. It gave us a new main character known as Bayek,a breathtaking setting in the form of Ancient Egypt with incredible graphics.

The gameplay was also changed to have  RPG elements. After the release of the acclaimed ”Origins” many were waiting to see where the franchise would go next and people were praying for Bayek to have a sequel, something that has not happened since Ezio Auditore’s second game ”Assassins Creed Brotherhood” which came out in 2010.

But our hopes were met with disappointment at the Ubisoft conference this year. Not only was it revealed Bayek would be replaced with two emotionless ”characters” Alexios and Kassandra but it was revealed to take place BEFORE Origins therefore not making it an AC game unless the modern day continues where it left off in origins.

Also, remember how i said Ubisoft wasn’t going back to yearly releases? Well they went back on that also and as a result the game will release on the 5th of October 2018.

Its clear Ubisoft have completely given up trying to satisfy fans and are only trying to satisfy its wallet…
